Ted Dekker does a fantastic job blending together a suspenseful, action-packed plot with thought-provoking, religious metaphor. Because of that, it’s hard to pinpoint a specific genre for The Circle Series! Its range is guaranteed to satisfy various types of readers.

The novel starts with Thomas Hunter, a man who owes powerful people a lot of money, running through deserted alleyways of Denver, trying to flee from assailants that are there to collect his debt. He barely escapes, until a bullet comes out of nowhere, turning his world black.

He wakes up with a head wound in a world unlike anything he’s ever seen. Good and Evil are clearly represented (a Green Forest and a Black Forest), and a river circles around the entire world separating the two forests. He remembers the alleys of Denver, but it all seems like a foggy dream, despite the fact he has a head wound. When he falls asleep in that world, he awakens in a dumpster in an alleyway. He quickly learns that one he falls asleep in one world, he wakes up in the other, but both worlds present catastrophic problems, some of which are caused by Thomas himself.

Where does reality end, and the dream begins?

Description

An Adrenaline-Laced Epic Where Dreams and Reality Collide.

Fleeing assailants through deserted alleyways, Thomas Hunter narrowly escapes to the roof of a building. Then a silent bullet from the night clips his head . . . and his world goes black.

From the blackness comes an amazing reality of another world where evil is contained. A world where Thomas Hunter is in love with a beautiful woman.

But then he remembers the dream of being chased through an alleyway as he reaches to touch the blood on his head. Where does the dream end and reality begin?

Every time he falls asleep in one world, he awakes in the other. Yet in both, catastrophic disaster awaits him . . . may even be caused by him.

Some say the world hangs in the balance of every choice we make. Now the fate of two worlds hangs in the balance of one man's choices.
