On the side of a mountain, Issac played in his favorite pool fed by a spring flowing from within the rocky giant.  The clouds above him were turning dark, and spots of rain fell on his cheeks. He emptied his jar of water into the pool as the rain made streams flow out and down the mountainside.  Isaac followed as it plunged down a waterfall and into a grand river. "Somewhere in all that tumbling is the water from my little jar," Isaac thought.  He observed the beginning of water’s journey as it is cycled through the earth, bringing life where it flowed.  It gave creatures a place to drink and wash, it conquered the drought in country meadows, it shared its power with towns and cities, until, eventually it joined the great ocean. The incredible journey continued on, touching the vast corners of the earth until one day...clouds turned gray, once again sending spots of rain into the pool where Isaac played to the rhythm of the rain.

A breathtaking picture book about the water cycle from Kate Greenaway Medal winner Grahame Baker-Smith

Issac plays in his favorite pool on the mountainside. As rain starts to fall, he empties his little jar of water into the pool and races the sparkling streams as they tumble over waterfalls, rush through swollen rivers, and burst out into the vast open sea. Where will my little jar of water go now? Issac wonders. From the tiniest raindrop to the deepest ocean, this breathtaking celebration of the water cycle captures the remarkable movement of water across the earth in all its majesty.
