This is the first book in Leigh Bardugo's "Six of Crows" duology. Fans of YA Fantasy and the movie "Suicide Squad" will be sucked into this world! Set in the loosely European inspired backdrop of Ketterdam, a city known for crime and gangs, "protagonist" and criminal mastermind, Kaz Brekker, pulls together a ragtag team of thieves, miscreants, and magical grisha to pull off an impossible heist. This group has been cast aside by society and is constantly being hunted for their crimes but you can't help but root for these unique characters who have to work together to save the world and each other. The story alternates between each character’s viewpoint so you will never be bored. You will want to stay up all night reading until you find out how Kaz’s gang will get out of all the trouble they’re in. Then, watch Ketterdam’s finest come to life in the new hit Netflix show "Shadow and Bone," which is based on this series along with the “Shadow and Bone” trilogy, also by Leigh Bardugo.
