Today is the last day we are accepting entries for our 2013 Short Story
Contest. All entries must be received by 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March
15th to be eligible for the contest. No late entries will be accepted. This year marks our 19th Annual Contest and is the "Year
of the Sequel!"
Each year, the
contest has a prompt, or inspiration point. For this year, we're doing
something a little different. If you're anything like us, you've read a
book at some point that you didn't want to end.
So... the theme for this year is to write a sequel to a book you've loved and wanted to go on forever!
For example, at the end of I Want My Hat Back by
Jon Klassen, Bear gets his hat back, but what happens next? You could
write a story about the next chapter in Bears life. That's just an idea
to get you started, we're sure you all will come up with something
infinitely more creative and inspired!
All stories must be based upon this idea and must be fewer thank 1,000 words. Entries over 1,000 words will not be accepted.
Entries
will be accepted Thursday, February 19, 2013 through Friday, March 15,
2013. All entries must be received by 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15th.
